Two Weeks Today

Two weeks ago today our son, Ethan was born.  He’s still in hospital and is doing great, we both can’t wait for him to come home. Hence why it’s been a little quite on the blog of late.   Will do my best to keep on blogging during this exciting and scary time.

On Wednesday 18th May at 7:45am our son, Ethan James came in to the world 8 weeks early and very much to our suprise.   He’s doing really well and we can’t wait to have him home.

Resolve ARCserve Job Corruption

1. Start > run > cmd {enter} 2. cd c:\program files\ca\Brightstor Arcserve Backup\ {enter} 3. cstop {enter} 4. Start > Run > %BAB_HOME% {enter} 5. Solution to the Windows Exception: "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship"

I came across this issue today and found this solution.  Got this error when logging into a machine that I hadn’t touched in months: "the security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship" Not exactly sure why, but changing from a FQDN to a short name resolved …

Microsoft Forefront

Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Server not displaying in SBS 2003 RWW

A clients Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Server failed.   We installed Windows Server 2008 R2 and configured it as a Remote Desktop Server.  But it didn’t appear in the RWW as a 2003 Terminal server would have normally.  As the image below demonstrates. Lots of Drives…. or Not. :-)

Does this bug you? In Windows 7, you can turn it of by hitting Alt, Select Tools menu > Folder options…… Ensure “Don’t show hidden files folder or drives” is selected and ensured “Hide empty drives in the Computer folder” is ticked.   The empty drives disappear…..
